Chantal Petitclerc is a Canadian wheelchair racer, born on December 15, 1969, in Saint-Marc-des-Carrières, Quebec. She is widely regarded as one of the greatest Paralympic athletes of all time. Petitclerc started her professional career in athletics in the late 1980s and dominated her sport, winning multiple titles, including a record-breaking 14 Paralympic gold medals.
Petitclerc is known for her incredible speed, strength, and versatility. She has won numerous individual awards, and holds multiple records, such as being the first to hold world records in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m in the T54 category.
Off the field, Petitclerc is also recognized for her advocacy work, focusing on disability rights and promoting sports for persons with disabilities.
