Darts is a sport that involves throwing small missiles, known as darts, at a circular target (dartboard) fixed to a wall. The two main types of games are '01' games and Cricket, differentiated by the rules of the game and scoring methods.

Darts requires accuracy, concentration, and strategic thinking, making it a highly competitive and mentally demanding activity.

'01' Games

• Scoring Down: The most common games in this category are 301 and 501. Players start with a score of 301 or 501 and the objective is to reduce the score to zero as quickly as possible. The final dart must land in either the bullseye or a double segment.

Cricket

• Targeted Scoring: This game is about scoring as much as possible. Players aim to 'close' certain numbers on the board and score points. The player who closes all numbers and has the highest points is the winner.

Round the Clock

• Sequential Throwing: Players must hit the numbers in sequence from 1 to 20. The player who completes the sequence first is the winner.

Halve-It

• Penalty Game: A number or a set of numbers is chosen for each round. If a player does not hit the chosen number, their score is halved.

Killer

• Elimination Game: Players aim at 'killing' other players by hitting their assigned numbers. The last player standing is the winner.

• Darts is part of various international competitions, including the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Championship, the British Darts Organisation (BDO) World Championship, and the World Masters.
• There are also national championships and leagues in several countries, such as the UK, the Netherlands, and the United States.
